A Fort Carson soldier accused of sexually assaulting a teenager will face a judge Friday.
Gelette Flores was arrested Saturday after a standoff with police. Police say they were alerted Saturday to contact Flores, 35, who was reported to be suicidal.
Officers went to a home on the 4100 block of Solarglen Drive Saturday morning, where they found Flores in the garage holding a shotgun. Officers say children were outside in the neighborhood. Flores ultimately put the gun down and surrendered.
According to the affidavit, officers spoke with an unnamed person who accused Flores of having sexual contact with the alleged victim. The victim was examined by a nurse who conveyed to police details about the alleged encounter.
The nurse told the detective that the victim described Flores telling her to put on lingerie before eventually having sex on the bed of the master bedroom. While they were having intercourse, someone came home and the pair went into the bathroom to hide and continue having sex.
The detective who wrote the affidavit also describes an interview in which Flores admitted to having sexual contact with the girl starting about two years ago when she was either 12 or 13-years-old. Flores reportedly said the relationship consisted of 50-60 encounters involving intercourse and oral sex.
In addition to the charge of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, Flores is also charged with menacing and child abuse. 11 News has confirmed that Flores is a sergeant with the 43rd Sustainment Brigade.
