Investigators closed Fort Carson's Gate 1 Friday afternoon to question a man. Gate guards report he was acting suspiciously and his car was searched.

The scene was cleared and the gate re-opened around 7 p.m. Friday night, according to a Ft. Carson spokesperson.

The incident began around 1:00 p.m. A man, reportedly not registered with the Mountain Post, drove up to the gate. Sources at Ft. Carson said Friday night only that the man was acting suspiciously when he was asked for his identification.

Officials closed Gate 1 and re-routed traffic to other gates during the initial investigation. A bomb squad was also called to check the man's car.

The Ft. Carson spokesperson told 11 News nothing dangerous was found.
