Two Fort Carson soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan.

Soldiers are remembering their fallen comrades in a memorial service Friday.

SSG Benjamin G. Prange, 30, of Hickman, Neb. and PFC Keith M. Williams, 19, of Visalia, Calif. were killed July 24 when insurgents attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device.

The soldiers were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.

SSG Prange had served in the Army for 6-1/2 years. This was his third deployment to Afghanistan. PFC Williams had been in the Army for less than a year, and was on his first deployment.

A memorial service to honor the two men will be held at 11 a.m. at Provider Chapel on the Mountain Post.
