A total of four-hundred soldiers are expected to return home Monday. The are scheduled to arrive in two groups.

Friends and families gathered to welcome the first group of approximated 250 soldiers at 1:45 a.m.

They are part of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.

They spent the past nine months in Kuwait supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

They helped with security operations and participated in joint training and exercises and strengthened ties between the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces. The Army says their efforts promoted security and stability in the region.

The second group of 150 soldiers is expected to arrive at 7:00 p.m.

They are part of the 43rd Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.

They deployed in February to the U.S. Central Command area of operations.

The group operated three Retro-Sort Yards in Kandahar, Bagram and Camp John Pratt. They also processed, shipped and recorded Army assets collected in Afghanistan.

The 43rd Sustainment Brigade competed base closures, transfers and consolidation. The Army says their efforts saved taxpayers more than $600 million.
