A group of Colorado airmen departed for a four-month deployment in Tuesday. They are going to provide airlift and aerial delivery support to Southwest Asia, including Afghanistan.
The deployment includes both active duty and Air Force reservists from the 302nd Airlift Wing and the active duty C-130 flying squadron, the 52nd Airlift Squadron. They’ve been training and deploying together since October of 2009.
The missions in this employment are likely to include supply, equipment and personnel deliveries and aeromedical evacuations.
