CO Lawmakers Want Lottery Ticket For Veterans

Two Colorado lawmakers plan to introduce legislation that would create a lottery ticket aimed at raising funds for veterans' services.

Republican Rep. Marsha Looper and Democratic Sen. Suzanne Williams will be speaking Saturday at the state Capitol about the legislation they plan to introduce when the Legislature meets in January.

The bill would create a scratch ticket with all the proceeds going to the Veterans Assistance Grant Fund. The money would be used to create programs to help veterans with career counseling, mental health and temporary housing assistance.

Looper says tough budget times mean the state does not have enough funds to help veterans.

Other states that have similar lottery programs for veterans include Illinois, Texas and Kansas.

Looper could care less about veterans. She is only doing this like some many other Vet and Wounded Warrior sponsored bills she does. It is all about the press for her, nothing more.

What a great idea! Our veterans deserve all the help they can get! Thank you!

Hey, they should make a $1 scratch card so the city can hire better police instead of the team of criminals they currently have.
