A suspicious item has been deemed harmless following a bomb squad investigation Friday, according to Fort Carson.
The object was found Friday morning near building 1667 on Prussman, between the streets of Barkeley and Magrath. The Fort Carson Explosives Ordinance Disposal and the post fire department both responded.
The item was determined not to be a threat, but authorities are still investigating why it was left where it was. They would not elaborate on what the item was.
There were rumors about evacuations during the initial bomb squad investigation, but Fort Carson could not confirm.
The post is now operating normally.
