Cadet 2nd Class Stephan H. Claxton
Air Force Cadet 2nd Class Stephan H. Claxton was convicted by a court martial of sexual assault charges.
Academy spokesperson John VanWinkle says the jury of seven officers began working to decide Claxton’s sentence around 8:45 Friday morning. They determined he should be sentenced to six months confinement, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and dismissal from the Air Force.
The maximum sentence would have included nine years of confinement, dismissal from the Air Force, and forfeiture of all pay and allowances.
The jury convicted him on June 21 of attempted sexual contact, wrongful sexual contact and assault consummated by a battery.
A woman testified at a hearing in January that Claxton, who is in the class of 2012, allegedly crept beside her while she slept in March 2011 and placed her hand on his genitals. Prosecutors alleged he also unzipped the pants of a woman who was passed out after a night of drinking in November.
