Southern Colorado Air Force reservists are going back to work fighting wildfires. Two MAFFS equipped C-130s from Peterson Air Force Base have been called back to Idaho.

The reservists of the 302nd Air Lift Wing came home a week ago, but commanders say lightning in this weekend’s forecast is threatening to increase fire activity in the Rocky Mountains north of Colorado.

The 302nd will assist the MAFFS crews from California's 146th Air Lift Wing, which is already conducting firefighting efforts out of Idaho.
