About 200 Fort Carson soldiers were welcomed home early Tuesday morning. Family and friends packed the Fort Carson Special Events Center just after 3:00 a.m. to welcome them home.
The soldiers are members of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. They had served in Afghanistan for almost a full year.
It was an early morning, but well worth it for the families that were reunited.
“I’m trying not to cry,” Sgt. Noel said while holding his young daughter.
“It’s rough, it’s hard, but you can’t put it into words,” his wife Marie Noel said.
