Air Force Academy Cadet Third Class Peter T. Quick was killed just after midnight Saturday in a motor vehicle crash on I-70B in Clifton, CO.

Quick, originally from Friendship, TN, was the passenger in a sedan that was involved in a crash with a semi-truck. The cadet who was driving the sedan suffered non-life threatening injuries.

"The Air Force Academy family is deeply saddened by the tragic loss one of our own," said Academy Commandant of Cadets Brig. Gen. Richard Clark. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter's family, his loved ones and the Cadet Wing during this difficult time of grieving and healing."

Before joining the Air Force Academy's Class of 2014, Cadet Quick was an enlisted Airman stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
