Air Force Academy Cadet Third Class Peter T. Quick was killed just after midnight Saturday in a motor vehicle crash on I-70B in Clifton, CO.

Quick, originally from Friendship, TN, was the passenger in a sedan that was involved in a crash with a semi-truck. The cadet who was driving the sedan suffered non-life threatening injuries.

"The Air Force Academy family is deeply saddened by the tragic loss one of our own," said Academy Commandant of Cadets Brig. Gen. Richard Clark. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Peter's family, his loved ones and the Cadet Wing during this difficult time of grieving and healing."

Before joining the Air Force Academy's Class of 2014, Cadet Quick was an enlisted Airman stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

The Images were shocking & disturbing but I had my 17 yr old watch it to show what one moment of Inattention does. I feel for the family & friends And hope for the best. Thank-You for bringing us this even from the other side of the state, your hard work is appreciated.

Hopefully, the driver never gets given a fighter jet..Who knows what he'd run into with it...

What a selfish and unwarranted comment. This family is now mourning and your comment demonstrates the wickedness which now permiates this nation. May this young man rest in His peace and may the Lord comfort his family.

And may the Lord comfort the driver and other passenger and their families as they mourn the loss of this young man.
