The names of nine fallen soldiers are now inscribed along with 327 others on a memorial wall in Fort Carson’s Kit Carson Park.
Master Sgt. Charles Price was one of those remembered at the ceremony Thursday. SSG John Hammil spoke about his memories of fighting alongside Price.
“He would do anything for the soldiers on duty, off duty and he was just the best platoon sergeant I’ve ever had in the army. Ask any guy and they’ll tell you the same thing. This was a huge hit for us,” Hammil said.
Since 2004, Fort Carson has engraved the stones with the names of soldiers who perished during combat.
