The west entrance gate of Peterson Air Force Base will close July 30 through the first week in November due to construction of a new gate and visitor's center.
The entrance is located off Powers Boulevard and Airport Road. According to officials, 13,500 cars pass through that gate every day. Traffic to other gates may impact traffic flow on Platte Avenue, Marksheffel Road, Galley Road and Peterson Road near the base during rush hour.
During the closure, the North gate, located at Platte Ave. and Peterson
Rd., will be open 24 hours a day. The East gate, located south of
Highway 94 off of Marksheffel Rd, will be open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday
through Friday, and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends.
