Air Force Academy Ranked Among Nation's Top Colleges

The Princeton Review is out and the Air Force Academy has made the ranks.

The Review says the U.S. Air Force Academy’s professors are among the most accessible in the nation in their The Best 371 Colleges Guide, released Tuesday.

The Air Force Academy ranks fourth in the nation in professor availability with a student-faculty ratio of 9:1 and an average class size of 20. The AFA also boasts that 100 percent of the faculty is full-time and no classes are taught by teaching assistants.

The Academy also came out in several other top-20 rankings in the nation, including:
• #4 Don’t Inhale
• #6 Stone-Cold Sober Schools
• #8 Future Rotarians and Daughters of the American Revolution
• #11 Most Conservative Students
• #11 Everyone Plays Intramural Sports
• #19 Scotch and Soda, Hold The Scotch

All of these rankings were given to the AFA in The Best 371 Colleges, the new 2010 edition of its annual "best colleges" guide.

The kids who get into the AFA are the best of the best & they worked hard to be admitted. Yes, they are few but, they are very SMART and go though a rigorous application process. Anyone who wants to give it a real effort has a chance to get in too. But you do have to work for it and not expect it to be handed to you on a silver platter along with a class of 1000 other freshmen that didn't have to do anything but fill out an Application & get at least a "C" to get in...... The ranking is important because it might inspire a few kids to get off their duff and make a real effort to get into one of the finest schools in the world. The AFA admits about 1300 students each year - out of over 10,000 applications. In 2008, 13,396 candidates applied to MIT and 1,589 (11.9 percent) were offered admission. So how is the AFA different from other outstanding schools? It is always a good idea to do a little research before commenting! Hope this was helpful!

Nice to know if you are one of the VERY few select ones chosen to attend. Otherwise, this is helpful how?
