About 150 Ft. Carson soldiers are back from Afghanistan, and they arrived home on the 4th of July.
They marched into the Special Events Center at about 10:30 Monday night, into the arms of their waiting families.
The soldiers are members of the "Raider Brigade" of the 1st BCT.
During their deployment they worked to strengthen Afghan National Security Forces and gain the trust of Afghan civilians. The army says that resulted in an increase in tips from informants, and led the soldiers to a number of weapons caches and explosive devices they disabled.
About 200 1BCT soldiers returned to the Mountain Post on Saturday.
