Two separate Fort Carson homecomings and nearly 350 soldiers are finally home with their families Tuesday.
It was an emotional day for all of the family and friends waiting in the Special Events Center as soldiers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division marched in during two ceremonies Monday.
The 345 soldiers in the 3BCT, 4ID were from part of different units and were tasked across the country of Iraq for 15-months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The first set of soldiers were welcomed home at 1 p.m. Monday and the remaining 298 soldiers reunited with their families around 9 p.m.
Many of the roughly 3,800 soldiers from the 3BCT, 4ID have returned home and the remaining soldiers will be returning to Fort Carson in the coming weeks.
