Bressler is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Specialist Kevin Shields last December. Bressler was not alone that night however. Kenneth Eastridge and Bruce Bastien, two other fellow soldiers were also there that night.
Eastridge and Bastien have both plead guilty to accessory in the murder of Shields and both have pointed the finger at Louis Bressler. They say that Bressler is the one who pulled the trigger and shot at Shields 5 times. Three of those bullets hit Shields, twice in the head, once in the upper thigh.
The prosecution spent the past two weeks trying to prove to the jury that it was Bressler who fired those shots.
The defense tried to punch holes in that story and show the jury that it may have been one of the other men, Bruce Bastien, who shot and killed Shields.
If Bressler is found guilty by the jury, he faces life in prison, with no possibility of parole.
