A Fort Carson soldier assigned to the 3BCT, 4ID was killed Thursday, November 13 in a rollover accident in Baghdad.
Spc. Armando A. De La Paz, 21, of Riverside, Calif., was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
De La Paz joined enlisted on June 22, 2005. He had served one previous tour from Iraq, December, 2005 - October, 2006. He deployed on his second tour to Iraq in December, 2007.
De La Paz was awarded several medals in the time he served, including the Purple Heart, two Army Commendation Medals, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
De La Paz is Fort Carson's 245th casualty since the Global War on Terror began.
