It was a packed house at the Retired Enlisted Association in Colorado Springs as veterans from every generation were honored.

It is a day for all Americans to stop and think about what freedoms we have and to recognize the people that have made these freedoms possible. Wreaths were lain for different veterans organizations.

Retired Lieutenant Colonel Scott Defebaugh fought in WWII and the Korean war. He says that, we all need to "recognize the fact that people gave their lives and gave their bodies. Those who didn't come home are the heroes. Those heroes fought for this country to preserve it for the freedoms we have. No other country has the freedoms we have."

Lt. Col Defebaugh says it's important to just say "Thank you".
