Bastien Jr., a 22-year-old Iraq war veteran, pleaded guilty July 21 to three felony counts in the shooting deaths of Kevin Shields on December 1, 2007 and Robert James on August 4, 2007.

The second suspect in Shields' death, 24-year-old Kenneth Eastridge pleaded guilty July 11 to accessory to murder. He is expected to serve 10 years in prison.

The third suspect, 25-year-old Louis Bressler, is facing first degree murder charges in the murders of both Shields and James.

Both Bastien and Eastridge are smart; took a plea deal and saved their hides from life in prison. Bressler, once found guilty by a jury, deserves the death penalty. Insomuch as I do not agree with the sentences these first 2 got for killing 2 others, I can only hope that the sentences imposed give some measure of comfort to the families of these men. Bressler is a coward; no remorse, no concern for anyone but himself. Your day is coming; hope you know that justice is right around the corner waiting for your sorry self to arrive!
