The Air Force Academy is hosting a military blood drive September 17-19, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It's being held in the Arnold Hall Ballroom to support wounded soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. One unit of blood can save three lives and blood donations will be abroad in only seven days helping the wounded.
Last year the blood drive was able to collect 3,361 units of blood for soldiers. This year, organizers say they need to collect at least 2,000 units of blood.
