A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. A woman says two other women knocked on her door and asked to use her phone, then attacked and robbed her when she let them inside.
The 44-year-old victim told police that one of the suspects was an acquaintance.
According to police, the victims says once the pair was inside her home, one assaulted her while the other went into another room and took her wallet and cell phone.
The victim was able to driver herself to the hospital.
The first suspect is described as a Hispanic woman in her 30's. She is about 5'3" tall with a medium to heavy build and dark hair. She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt.
The second suspect is described as a white woman also in her 30's. She is about 5'7" tall with a medium build and shoulder length red hair.
Police say neither suspect had a weapon.
The incident occurred about 11:40 p.m. near W. Fontanero and 31st Street in Colorado Springs.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 444-7000.
