After snowfall along the I-25 corridor Sunday be on the lookout for slick road conditions tonight and during your Monday morning commute. A woman is recovering from head trauma after she was hit by an SUV in a parking lot on the southeast side of the Springs Wednesday night.
Police tell 11 News an older woman, maybe about 70, was on her way into the Save A Lot store near Airport and Circle when she was hit by an SUV.
Several employees witnessed the collision and rushed outside to try and help her.
As part of the investigation, officers took pictures of the SUV. The driver has been ticketed for careless driving resulting in injury.
The woman was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Police say she suffered some significant head injuries, but that the injuries should be non-life threatening.
Police want to remind all of us to pay extra attention as we head into the busiest time of year for shopping. Over the next couple of months, parking lots are only going to get more and more crowded.
