Woman Facing Burglary, Attempted Kidnapping Charges

A woman is facing burglary and attempted kidnapping charges after reportedly breaking into a home through a window and and trying to force a teenage girl to leave with her.

Colorado Springs police say 41-year-old Corena Shelton broke two windows in the front of the home and climbed in.

A man at the home reportedly pulled out a gun and told Shelton to leave. When she wouldn't, he called police.

Police have not said if Shelton knew or is related to the 17-year-old girl or the man in the home.

Shelton faces charges of second degree burglary and attempted kidnapping.

the incident happened at 10:45 p.m. Sept. 19.
