A woman sprung into action after witnessing a crash involving a senior citizen.
The woman, who's a nurse, told 11 News she didn't hesitate after she saw the minivan hit the elderly woman.
"My first reaction is to help," she told 11 News. She pulled into a parking lot and assisted the victim until an ambulance could arrive.
The victim was hit Tuesday night while crossing Main Street in Security-Widefield. Witnesses say she was responsive after the crash, but seriously hurt. She was taken to Memorial Hospital once an ambulance arrived at the scene.
Witnesses told troopers that the woman was in the crosswalk when she was hit, but that the driver of the minivan had a green light. As of late Tuesday night, no one had been cited in the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing.
