Some evacuees affected by the Fern Lake Fired burning in the Rocky Mountain National Forest can return home Wednesday morning.
The fire has burned 4,400 acres as of Saturday. It stood at 1,500 acres Friday night.
Right now it is 40 percent contained.
1,000 structures are still being threatened.
The blaze was reported Oct. 9 and was likely caused by an illegal campfire.
