Firefighters hope to prevent another wildfire season like the last two. (Pictured here: Black Forest Fire, 2013)
Peak wildfire season is almost upon us, and firefighters want to ensure this summer is not a repeat of the previous two.
A 90 minute meeting will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain High School auditorium Thursday night, starting at 6:30. The high school is located on 1200 Cresta Road, on the southwest end of the Springs.
Officials will be on hand to discuss topics ranging from preparedness to mitigation to insurance information.
Firefighters we spoke with say it's important to be prepared every year.
"We are in a threat every year because of our low humidity, high temperatures and because of the lack of moisture we have during that time of year," a firefighter told 11 News.
