Widespread Power Outage In Southern Colo. Caused By Squirrel

A widespread power outage this morning affected homes from Walsenberg to Trinidad and east to Branson.

According to officials with San Isabel Electric Association, the outage affected approximately 4,500 customers for nearly an hour. The power was restored shortly after 10 a.m.

A squirrel in the Walsenburg substation was to blame, officials say.
