A broken pipe caused water to run down the streets of Mallard Dr. this afternoon near the intersection of S. Chelton Rd.
Crews have closed down Mallard Dr. for one block as crews work to repair the broken pipe.
Colorado Springs Utilities say they suspect the pipe burst because of corrosion. They say they were on scene quickly before too much water escaped.
The road will stay closed until about the early evening, around 9 o'clock as crews fix the pipe.
Two fourplexes right at the corner of S. Chelton Rd. and Mallard Dr. are currently without water. Crews hope to have it restored around 8 o'clock this evening.
There was another main break just down the road on Mallard Dr. about a week ago.
Officials tell 11 News sometimes if they do repair on a road, it can cause stress on aging pipes on the same section of the road causing this second pipe break.
The spokesperson says it's difficult to pinpoint if that was the cause of this burst, but do believe it was an aging pipe.
