Waldo wasn't hard to spot today in Colorado Springs. A record number of people turned out for the Waldo Waldo 5K fundraiser.
Participants dressed up like Waldo to raise money for restoration efforts in the Waldo Canyon burn area.
Last year just over 1,000 people participated and raised $20,000. This year spokesperson Chelise Foster says the numbers more than doubled, with approximately 2,500 participants raising over $40,000.
Even Skysox mascot Sox the Fox sported his Waldo attire for the event.
The money will go to the Rocky Mountain Field Institute and the Trails And Open Space Coalition for re-vegetation efforts, restoration in the Waldo Canyon burn area, flood mitigation and trail maintenance.
