U.S. Postal Service To Increase Price Of Postage Stamps

The price of postage stamps is about to increase by 1 cent.

Right now a forever stamp sells for 45 cents, but starting Sunday, January 27, expect to pay 46 cents. The United States Postal Service is plagued with financial troubles right now. Part of the problem is less mail going through the system.

Jobs are being cut and mail centers have been consolidated. The mail service has also been looking to congress for some help financially. The service is set to run out of operating cash sometime around October.

The best way to avoid the current price hike is to buy Forever Stamps before Sunday at the current rate and they will still be good after stamp prices increase.
