A routine traffic stop turned into a high-speed chase Saturday after a vehicle refused to stop.
State troopers tried pulling over a 1996 Acura sedan near the Briargate exit (exit 151). The couple in the car refused to stop and led pursuing authorities up I-25 past the county line and into Douglas County.
The chase was terminated at exit 170, near Larkspur, due to it becoming too unsafe.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office later found the vehicle at a residence in Monument. The suspects fled, but were found a short time later at a home on Sheriffs Cove, also in Monument. Both reportedly had felony warrants.
