After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. During the wildfires that tore through the Pikes Peak region these past two summers, a team of canines were dispatched to help comfort the victims and first responders.
Saturday, between 20 and 30 Go Team Therapy dogs and their handlers took part in a training exercise to help the dogs grow accustomed to riding buses. The Go Team Therapy organization says in emergencies such as the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires, the dogs are transported by bus.
The Mountain Metropolitan Transit provided volunteers and the dogs access to two city buses.
