During the wildfires that tore through the Pikes Peak region these past two summers, a team of canines were dispatched to help comfort the victims and first responders.
Saturday, between 20 and 30 Go Team Therapy dogs and their handlers took part in a training exercise to help the dogs grow accustomed to riding buses. The Go Team Therapy organization says in emergencies such as the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires, the dogs are transported by bus.
The Mountain Metropolitan Transit provided volunteers and the dogs access to two city buses.
