The Pikes Peak Region continues to see both light rain and snow, even a mix in some places so far in the early afternoon hours. Eventually this afternoon, the rain will change all into snow for the Pikes Peak region, while areas to the south and east start picking up on rain. By the overnight hours, all will be in the snow category. This looks to end by the early morning hours on Sunday. Investigators in Crowley County said they are now investigating a suspicious death as a homicide. The body was found in a home in Olney Springs, CO this morning.
Olney Springs is located east of Pueblo.
Investigators are not releasing much information about the victim, other than it is a young woman. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
The school superintendent in Crowley County said the sheriff advised a lock-out today as a safety precaution while the sheriff’s office investigated. A lock-out is when the school doors are locked, but classes continue as normal inside. The superintendant says the lock-out was lifted around 1 p.m. after the sheriff told him there was no longer a threat in the area.
