A woman allegedly driving under the influence when she crashed into a mother and her two young children has been released from the hospital and booked into the CJC.

Arica Vlach, 31, was wheeled into a courtroom Thursday for her first physical court appearance. She was released from the hospital a few days ago after spending more than a month there recovering from serious injuries sustained in the July 12 collision.

Court papers allege that Vlach may have had up to 10 beers and Peppermint Schnapps the night before her fatal run-in with a minivan at Judge Orr and Log Road east of the Springs. Two-year-old Zoe Enderle was her family's sole survivor that day; her mother Nicole Enderle, 42, and her 3-year-old brother Alexander Enderle were killed. All had been wearing seat belts.

Vlach was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Authorities say her airbag system recorded a speed of nearly 75 mph just seconds before the air bags deployed.

Vlach's charges were not read in court Thursday, but at the time of the crash, authorities said she could face four to 12 years in prison for several charges, including DUI and vehicular homicide. Even though she was allegedly drinking the night before, and not the morning of the crash, an emergency room doctor told 11 News that it's not uncommon for drivers to still be drunk many hours after they stop drinking. The crash happened at 9 in the morning.

Vlach will return to court September 5.
