A man wanted on a felony warrant and for allegedly violating a protection order Sunday morning was arrested after he reportedly ran from police and tried to hide out in a church building.
Police were called to the 700 block of Manitou Blvd. at approximately 8:10 a.m. when Jeremy Hunter reportedly tried to contact his alleged victim at a residence.
When police arrived, they say Hunter took off on foot. Officers and police dogs contained the area where Hunter was believed to be.
Officers almost caught up with him in the area of 22nd Street and Uintah, but he got away again. Hunter was then seen going into a church near the area of 19th and Henderson.
People were inside the church at the time, but the service hadn't started yet. Officers went inside and arrested Hunter without further incident.
