Two suspects are in jail after police say they stole from a local Safeway.
Responding officers quickly found the suspects walking behind a business near the store, which is located on the 1400 block of South Murray in Colorado Springs.
According to police, the man and woman stole several DVDs from the store. A loss prevention employee was threatened by the male suspect after trying to confront the couple. Police were told that the suspect threatened to cut the employee with a knife.
After the suspects were arrested, police found all the merchandise reported stolen, but did not recover a knife. Police say the male suspect did have an object that could have looked like one if held up.
The suspects have been identified as Melanie Dean and Brent Murphy, both 21. They have been charged with aggravated robbery and menacing.
