Cause Of House Fire Under Investigation

A family of six has been displaced after a fire burned through their home.

It happened in the area of Southfork and Pamela off Falcon Highway, east of Colorado Springs.

Firefighters battled strong winds as they worked to put out the house fire. At one point, the roof collapsed and nearly injured a firefighter.

An ember flew about a half-mile away and started a small grass fire there. It was quickly put out.

The fire was reported sometime before 1 p.m.

Firefighters haven't released a cause of the fire.
