After an almost four-hour standoff, Denver police have an alleged shooter in custody.

Police were called to an apartment at 12th and Grant near downtown Denver on reports of a suicidal situation. After officers arrived, sister station KCNC says the suspect began firing from an apartment. The suspect and officers exchanged fire for nearly four hours.

At one point, authorities fired a gas canister into the apartment as an attempt to draw the suspect out. Nearby residents were told to stay inside and keep their windows closed.

Police arrested the suspect just before 6 a.m. No one was injured in the incident.
