The door is open for more charges, but the owner of Springs Transmissions and Automotive was formally charged with 31 counts Monday morning in his first appearance.
Ehnes was arrested at the end of September on numerous allegations of shady practices and criminal activity, including car theft, motor vehicle repair violations and fraud. Police say there may be as many as 50 victims. The business has had even more run-ins with the law since he bonded out.
Ehnes has maintained his innocence, telling 11 News during the police investigation that the allegations against him were completely untrue. He said Monday that he isn't ripping people off, but did acknowledge getting into more trouble since bonding out.
