An Eagle Scout from Colorado Springs had the honor of lighting the Capitol Christmas tree Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.

17-year-old high school senior Ryan Shuster joined House Speaker John Boehner to flip the switch as the U.S. Air Force band played "O Christmas Tree".

The tree is from Colorado's White River National Forest.

It's decorated with 10,000 lights and thousands of ornaments made by the people of Colorado.
