Snow and rain will continue to taper from north. Main roads should stay just wet overnight and through early Thursday. Secondary roads and any bridges and overpasses away from city warmth will be icy, so be careful. Locally dense fog will be an issue for the early morning too. Forensic evidence collected more than five years ago has led police to a man who they say is guilty of rape.
In January of 2007, the victim told police she'd been raped by a man with whom she'd once been on a date. The woman said her boyfriend was deployed to Iraq, and she'd met up again with the other man to play pool.
She reportedly invited him back to her home to see a care package she'd made for her boyfriend. According to police, the woman said she had a few drinks, but she didn't remember anything until she woke up the next morning and realized she'd been sexually assaulted.
In March of 2010, a cold case investigator looked over the case and started working on new leads. Somehow that investigator was able to make a DNA match with the suspect, 35-year-old Daniel Gostnell.
KKTV 11 News is working to find out more about how police were able to make that match.
