A multi-county crime spree came to an end Thursday night after deputies arrested the suspect at Fremont County convenience store.

In just the span of a few hours, Davon Deshawn Cunningham allegedly burglarized a home, stole a Jeep, got involved in a hit-and-run, then trespassed and shot off a gun--all while trying to stay ahead of authorities.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says Cunningham first stole a Jeep and several handguns from a home in Trinidad Thursday evening, then while on the run in the stolen vehicle got involved in a hit-and-run in Pueblo West. He then allegedly escaped into Custer County, and was finally found in Fremont County after trespassing onto land near Florence and firing a shot in the air.

The Fremont County Sheriff's Office says that shortly after the landowner called authorities, Cunningham was spotted in the stolen jeep driving east on Highway 115. Authorities tracked him to a Florence convenience store and arrested him after he got out of the Jeep.

Cunningham was arrested shortly after 10 p.m.

Cunningham has been charged with aggravated motor vehicle theft, felony menacing, theft by receiving and second-degree criminal trespass.

The Sheriff's Office says Florence and Canon City police assisted with the arrest.
