Tucson Shooter Gets Life in Prison

Some of the survivors of the January 2011 shooting rampage that wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords are expected to spoke at Thursday's sentencing for the gunman.

Jared Lee Loughner pleaded guilty to 19 counts in August for the shooting in Tucson, Arizona that left six people dead and 13 others, including Congresswoman Giffords, wounded.

A plea deal guaranteed the 24 year-old Loughner will spend the rest of his life in prison, but allows him to avoid the death penalty.

Giffords' husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, also addressed the court on their behalf. He said Loughner changed his wife's life forever, but couldn't dent her spirit.
