Holiday travelers on I-70 are finding themselves in snarled traffic after a semi-truck rollover mid-morning Thursday.
The semi caught fire after rolling.
Idaho Springs Police Chief Dave Wohlers said the driver was going too fast, causing his load to shift, which then caused the truck to roll.
The crash has shut down eastbound I-70 at Highway 103 (exit 240), which is in Idaho Springs, near the Twin Tunnels. Idaho Springs is located west of Denver.
Eastbound drivers are told to use Highway 103 as an alternate route. Highway 9 over Hoosier Pass to Fairplay is recommended for those still in Summit County.
Law enforcement and firefighters spent hours cleaning up the wreck. The highway has since re-opened.
