State troopers are still investigating what led to a woman crashing into a ravine off of Highway 115.
According to Colorado State Patrol, the woman appeared to have somehow lost control of her Saturn Sedan and gone off road.
A spokesman with CSP tells 11 News that the woman, the sole occupant, was dead by the time troopers got on scene. It's unclear if she was alive when the crash was first discovered. Troopers got the call at 11:02 a.m., but say the crash happened earlier Sunday morning.
The accident has shut down most of Highway 115 at mile marker 12, which is near Florence. According to CDOT, there is currently one lane of alternating traffic in both directions.
State Patrol says the roads were icy in the area where the woman went off the highway and her inability to drive in those conditions might have contributed to the crash.
The woman has been identified, but her name has not been released pending notification of her family.
