Search On For Man Suspected In Sexual Assault Near Colorado College

Colorado Springs Police are looking for a man in connection to an early morning sexual assault. It happened around 4:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 1 at Mesa Road and W. Cache la Poudre Street near Colorado College.

The woman was out walking early this morning in the area of Monument Park near Colorado College. That's when a man approached her, asking for a lighter.

When she went to hand him the lighter, he grabbed her and forced her to the ground.

The woman was eventually able to push the suspect off of her and he took off running. We're told the suspect had a knife.

So far police have not been able to find him.

The suspect is a white man in his 20s with a medium build. He's 5'6" -5'7" and around 160 lbs. We're told he was wearing a black beanie and a dark colored jacket and he has a pierced lip.
