Many are still reacting to the news that civil unions are legal in Colorado. The same sex marriage debate is picking up steam in our nation's capitol as well.
The debate has people camping out in front of the Supreme Court waiting for a chance to witness arguments on same sex marriage.
Tomorrow the justices will focus on California's proposition that bans same sex marriage.
Supporters of same sex marriage insist there is a fundamental right to wed - a point disputed by the legal team defending the law.
"Fundamental rights are those that are deeply rooted in our nation's history and tradition," says Austin Nimocks of the group Alliance Defending Freedom. "Same sex marriage is not deeply rooted in our nation's history and traditions."
The nation will have to wait until later this year for the Supreme Court's decision.
