Snarled traffic on the southbound side of the interstate greeted Thanksgiving travelers late Thursday morning.

All southbound lanes at mile marker 167 on I-25, between Monument and Castle Rock, were closed for more than an hour while crews cleaned up an accident involving several cars.

Witnesses said traffic was backed up for miles; one said it took 55 minutes to move two miles.

At this time, the cause of the crash is unknown. No injuries were reported.
