After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon, though areas in higher elevations could see 1-2". Southbound I-25 is open again near Baptist Road. Both lanes had been closed because of an accident involving a rolled semi.
11 News has confirmed with Colorado State Patrol that a semi rolled onto its side, at approximately 10:45 a.m. blocking both lanes of traffic. There were no other vehicles involved.
One lane reopened around 1:00 p.m. The second lane reopened just before 1:30 p.m.
The 75-year-old driver has been taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. State Patrol says he is from Pueblo.
Emergency personnel remains on the scene.
A detour was set up at Highway 105, but there were still major delays. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area.
State Patrol says drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors in the accident.
Charges are pending while the accident is under investigation. We are told that could take several days.
